Flying Squirrels and Ficus'

These are just a few of the "F' words that fill my vocabulary.

Fascination is another. I find flying squirrels fascinating because they're the only species that originated on a dare. Unfortunately for me, they're nocturnal animals, so catching a glimpse of one mid-flight will be challenging. And my fondness of the ficus? Well, it was the first house plant I picked up when I moved to Seattle to pursue my design career. Somehow I've managed to keep it alive through seven winters. It's been my low-maintenance pet that sat with me through all-nighters filled with mouse clicks and crop marks.

These days my "f" words include full-time, working at an intimate design firm, Turnstyle, located in lovely Ballard. If that's not enough, I teach Intermediate Graphic Design at the School of Visual Concepts and mentor an eleven year old. When I'm not leading students, I'm leading partners...in swing dancing. My dance partner and I became the best of friends because we both loved the use of the "F" word. And that's the other thing about flying squirrels and ficus' that I love so much. They're fun "F" bombs you can drop in public.
